Here you can find answers to some of the questions you may have.
BDMAT offers those schools who wish to be academies an environment where they will be supported and challenged within a Christian context. Our MAT will be open to church schools within the Diocese of Birmingham and non-church schools within the same area that support our values and ethos.
For schools wishing to join Birmingham Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust (BDMAT) we suggest that the first action would be to invite Christopher Mansell, our CEO, to meet with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors. If following this meeting you wish to proceed with joining BDMAT, Christopher will then deliver a presentation to all your governors. Following the presentation, the Governors should vote and minute their desire to join. For Church of England schools, permission to join BDMAT should then be sought by the school from the Diocesan Director of Education, Sarah Smith.
Schools that have not already converted to academy status should apply online to the Department for Education for consideration to become an academy and join BDMAT.
Schools that have already converted to academy status will need to contact their Department for Education for further guidance.
